Healing is as effective as the healer is healed.

Healing is as effective as the Healer is  Healed.

The untimely death of the actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has the whole nation gripped in shock and sadness.  It has raised a few questions in my mind? This is not the first time anyone has committed suicide but what drives them to this extreme step of giving up on themselves, their families, their loved ones.

Why does someone commit suicide? Why does one feel so  helpless that they feel there is no way out? Why do people give up ?

What can we as individuals do to help ourselves and our loved ones family, friends, colleagues to cope &  survive despite what they  are going through in their lives. Not everyone is born with a mighty will.  Most people need help .  It could be a small thing as just being heard .  Just being there .

First we need to heal ourselves of our sorrow, pain, anger, fear, trauma we carry within us.    When we work on ourselves we can help the other.  But if we are caught up in our own misery we can seldom see the pain the other is going through .

All one needs is to be heard.  One doesn't need training  to be there for another person.  One needs to have empathy and compassion.   Be KIND.  Being successful without being human would be tragic.

Be Kind to yourself , by healing yourself, Be Kind to your family, friends, colleagues by being there for them.    These are the only people who will reach out to you in times of need.  Not a stranger. LET  NO ONE FEEL THEY ARE ALONE AND HAVE NO ONE TO SPEAK TO.

We first start with ourselves by letting go the pain, sorrow, anger guilt, shame, trauma we hold within us.  When we Heal ourselves we become compassionate and empathetic towards the other.  There is no other way.   We can never feel empathy for another when we are hurting only sympathy.

Today the whole world is gripped in sorrow as many have lost their loved ones to a pandemic.  This is the time to HEAL ourselves and to  help the other heal.  Be mindful, kind, and let people know that you are there for them.  It needs to be expressed.  Many a times we take things for granted and get shocked when we hear of the demise of a loved one.

All One Needs Is To Be Heard.  Answer the phone instead of cutting it .  Be there for the other.  It may save a precious LIFE.

  2. Actually in a webinar I attended yesterday, I learnt that one person in an hour committ suicide in India. The known people demise we become aware- but it is disheartening to know that India loses its citizens in suicide. The biggest stigma is Help Seeking for psychological disturbances. I feel together we can do our best to let people seek help under distress.
