The Original Bach Flower Remedies

           The Original Bach Flower Remedies

Dr Edward Bach discovered the 38 Flower essence between 1928 and  1935.   The first of the plants discovered were Impatiens and Mimulus in 1928 and by 1934 he had discovered in all 19 plants. By August 1935 he had discovered the remaining 19 plants that would complete the system of 38 Flower Remedies.

The flower remedies  are made   from non poisonous flowers and pure water.  The plants  grow in the wilderness in its natural habitat , are stronger and more wholesome .  They  have healing properties and they easily transmits the healing properties to the water used to prepare the Remedies.

However there  are 2 exceptions  Olive  and Vine .  They do not grow in the wilderness of Britain but in the Mediterranean and therefore the remedies are prepared outside Britain.   Vine and Olive plants grown in Britain are not suitable to make remedies so also the varieties of British wild flowers that grow in other parts  of the world are unsuitable .   The healing properties of each individual remedies are not depended on species alone , climate, the soil condition and the time of year the plant flowers all these factors  contribute to its healing properties.

There are  two methods discovered by Dr Bach to prepare the flower remedies and they are not interchangeable.  First the Sun Method where the blooms of the flowers are placed in a thin glass bowl filled with pure water and left in the sun for 3-4 hours or less if the  blooms show sign of fading.  The blossoms are removed and this water  contains the healing properties of the flowers .  A natural preservative is added to the water to keep its potency for many years and this becomes the Mother Tincture.

The second method used to prepare remedies is the Boiling method which is used for woody plants or woody parts of plants and also used for those plants that bloom when the sun is too weak to use the sun method.  Here the specimens are boiled for half hour in pure water , cooled, strained and a natural preservative is added .  This Mother Tincture  is the concentrated form of the remedies.  Before the remedies are ready to use they are diluted into a stock bottle which are sold at health stores.

Dr Bach original Mother Tinctures are still in storage at The Bach Centre and they are as potent now as they were earlier.

When one uses the Original Bach Flower Remedies one is sure and certain that the correct plants and methods have been used and one can rely on the purity.

There  are a lot of local companies in India that make and sell the remedies under the name of Bach  Flower Remedies.   Please be cautious when using these local remedies .   It is advisable to check the credentials of the company manufacturing and selling these remedies .
