Expectations from Bach Flower Therapy

Expectations from  Bach Flower Therapy.

Today I would like to address certain myths about ones expectations from Bach Flower Therapy.

It is  the Practitioners responsibility to educate the client about the Therapy, how it works and what one should expect from it.  Here it is most important for the client to be open and receptive  to answer honestly about how they feel about their issue or condition.  The more specific they are about their feelings the easier it is to arrive at the right remedy.   Here the Practitioner uses her skills  to help the client identify her negative  emotions and uses her knowledge to find the right flower remedy which corresponds to the negative emotion thereby facilitating healing .

 Myths

I am not incharge of my healing.  The Practitioner is  -  This is a myth that most people have about healing that something or someone else is responsible for their healing.  They forget the they ( the client)  play  the most important role  in his or her healing  process.   We the Practitioner through our knowledge and experience give to the client the tools (Remedies) to understand and facilitate his own healing process.  As Dr Bach rightly said in one of his lectures  "You  Yourselves Can Heal Yourselves"  When the client  realises that he is Responsible for his own healing it empowers him to take charge of his condition and start the healing process.

2) Everybody else  but myself needs  the healing -  Sometimes a client comes for a session and wants the Practitioner to heal either his spouse, child , friend, neighbour etc.  The client is  convinced that even though he or she is  under stress or have a difficult situation to deal with he or she  DOES NOT NEED HEALING.  As a  Practitioner we have to make the client understand that even though it is their unique circumstances that may have triggered their stress or problem,  we as Practitioner can help the client cope or deal with the stress which in turn empowers the client to handle the  situation.  We can only help the other  their husband, child, friend when they are willing to see a Practitioner.  We cannot change the external but can empower the client to deal with his circumstances in a healthy manner without causing any stress. Using  the Remedies helps bring a balance in ourselves  so that we are able to cope with any adversities.

3) Through the Therapy I will get exactly what I want, how I want, when I want:-  When a client comes for Therapy with a very rigid outlook and is not willing to give time  to heal it blocks the energy flow making it difficult for the body to start the healing process.   Our body knows exactly how to heal provided it is given the right condition and time.  When one comes with an open mind has faith in the Practitioner and is willing to be patient  the body starts to heal .  This allows the Practitioner to do their best to help the client in his  healing process.

4) There has to be an end to the Therapy and I will decide when to end it :-   Healing is a process and most often clients do not  have the patience to go through this process which hinders the healing.  There is a joy to understanding ourselves, opening up to insights, and to remembering what the body has known for a lifetime.  Just as you would not give up your dancing lessons in some pre decided notion of how long you should learn dance or how long you will practice it , healing too requires the same approach.  As the client sees  his condition improving , he must continue to take remedies and not abruptly discontinue taking the remedies. Healing is  a slow process and the Practitioner with his skill and expertise knows and guides his clients when  to discontinue the therapy taking into consideration the clients experience of the healing process.

5)  Once I am healed I should never experience any pain, or ache . In fact  I should be free from all disease for ever and neither should the Practitioner :-
For our bodies to be free from  disease it requires these  conditions of Air, Sunshine, Proper Nutrition, Rest, Exercise, Water and most important ones outlook in life or ones temperament.  Healing is not just about releasing our aches or illness but more about being human .  We are mind , body and soul and when all of this is is balance Health will prevail.     Ageing is a natural process and as we go through life  we will have to face setbacks, shocks or go through life's  challenges which will in turn take a toll on our health temporally. Here the Bach Flower Remedies help us to keep the balance without getting caught up in the adversities so that no matter what has  happened we do not dwell in the negative emotions but are able to spring back to life and continue our journey fulfilling our dreams.  " Health Depends On Being In Harmony  With  The Soul"  Dr Edward Bach.
