Beliefs, feelings and behaviour.
Beliefs , Feelings and Behaviour.
All humans are governed by a belief system that forms the bases of their emotions which leads to their behaviour. As we grow we carry these beliefs consciously or unconsciously throughout our lives gradually unfolding our character or personality.
As children we see, hear, absorb and accept everything that is told to us by our parents or adults who are around us. We therefore do not have the ability to comprehend or question the adults because our survival depends on them. In the process we grow up with certain beliefs which may have a negative impact and create blocks in our lives , preventing us to use our potential to the fullest in an optimum manner, by using all the resources available to us to achieve our goals.
Example:- Many a times children are told to finish their food on the plate. The child grows up with the belief that even if he is full , he has to finish the food and therefore overeats and feels guilty of wasting food which leads to obesity.
Example:- A Child is told to be well mannered by always giving others the first chance if he has to be accepted However when the child grows up he may see himself as not deserving as it would mean being bad or selfish and therefore it may affect his self worth .
How does one change these negative impressions to positive ones, which will unable us to be confident, mature, and productive adults.
The answer is , we all have the choice and the intelligence to question the beliefs which hold us back. By understanding our situation as a child where we were not in a position to question the negative belief, we now look at it objectively as an adult and change the belief which will help us to overcome our limitations.
From the earlier example 1) As an adult I realise that overeating has its consequences on my health and therefore I become aware of how much food I put on my plate so that I neither waste it nor feel guilty of overeating . This will help me to lead a healthier life with out carrying any guilt.
Example 2). As an adult I understand that by putting myself first it need not necessarily mean I am a bad person, as there will be situations or opportunities which may come in my life which I take for my growth as I deserve the best and so does everyone else. By analysing our beliefs we can change our feelings and therefore our negative behaviour.
Most often our parents or the adult who has been influential in our lives may never have questioned his or her negative belief and could have passed it to the child unknowingly. Therefore it is very common to see a perfect copy of the adult in the child as he grows. Not only beliefs we even pick up mannerisms of the people who play an important role in our lives.
By understanding and changing our negative beliefs we can change the way we feel and therefore our behaviour leading us to be confident, trustworthy adults who have faith in themselves and joy in our lives. We feel empowered to cope with any adversity. And choosing to forgive and letting go of the negative experiences helps us heal our lives.
An objective and clear understanding of our beliefs, about us being the ideal parent, child , wife, sibling, employee, employer, friend and many other roles we play we change the negative beliefs empowering us to free ourselves from the traumatic past experiences.
Here the Bach Flower Remedies allows us to transform and heal the negative emotions which are connected to the past experience and lived or carried in the present by gently overcoming the negative patterns which are deep rooted and guide us to become the best version of ourselves.
Our beliefs drive our emotions which trigger our unique behaviour patten that develops our personality . We and only we have the choice to change our limiting beliefs and create an abundantly fullfilling lives for ourselves.
